Jacksonville hits a little different when art and celebration share the same space. Davenport already carries that steady, creative energy, but during their shows, it comes alive in a whole new way — color everywhere, music drifting through, and people wandering from piece to piece like they belong right there in the story.

I entered 6 photos this time, and out of those, “Confetti for the Sun” and “Where the Road Learns to Wander” were chosen and will be on sale. That part still doesn’t feel real if I’m being honest. Each photo I entered carries its own moment:

Universe Behind a Whisker: up close, this eye feels bigger than it should… like I am looking into something ancient. The texture, the color — it pulls me in and doesn’t let go.
Gold Spilled Across the Evening: that soft, golden light right before the day lets go. It wasn’t just a sunset… it felt like the field was glowing from within.
Where the Road Learns to Wander (will be on display): a backroad on FM 3441 in East Texas that doesn’t seem to rush anywhere. It curves and bends like it knows something I don’t… yet.
Confetti for the Sun (will be on display): bright, bold, and full of life. The petals feel like they are celebrating — like the sun threw a party and didn’t invite shadows.
Velvet Rose: deep red, soft folds, and just enough shadow to make it feel a little dramatic… in the best way.
Confidence in Green: this little lizard stood on our porch balcony like he owns the place. Calm, steady, completely unbothered.

Arte de Mayo Premiere Party tickets are now available! Click here for tickets. Join us Saturday, May 2nd from 5-8p at Davenport Home + Design in Downtown Jacksonville, Texas for the Arte de Mayo Art Show & Sale Premiere Party.

This event is a fundraiser for the Jacksonville Community Arts Alliance, and it’s more than just an art show — it’s your chance to get first pick on artwork, meet the artists (yes, I will be there), and be part of something that supports local creativity in a real way. Every piece purchased goes right back into supporting artists and the JCAA, and I love that. It’s local people showing up for the local talent in a space that feels elevated but still welcoming — right in the heart of downtown. All the art work will be on sale and on display for the month.

Huge thank you Davenport Home + Design for hosting and supporting all of us.

If you’ve ever wanted to come see my work in person, this is the night to do it.
