Hi, I’m Debra “Nikki” Loftin — the heart, eyes, and storyteller behind Photos by Nikki/Debra Loftin Photography. I am a mom to 4 incredible girls (well they are teenagers and young adults now), wife of 23 years, and a woman who has learned to turn life’s chaos into creativity, purpose, and art.

Photography is where I breathe. Writing is where I think. And together, they are the way I make sense of the world around me — from the quiet magic of East Texas mornings to the wild, unrepeatable moments that unfold in everyday life.

For the past couple of years, I have been capturing nature, wildlife, landscapes, family moments, sports, small-town stories, and the kind of details most people walk right past. My camera has followed me from Athens sunsets to Nacogdoches backroads to football stadium bleachers, from dusty trails to county fairgrounds, from macro shots of insects to emotional portraits of the people I love. I am always chasing the real, the raw, and the honest.

Alongside my creative work, I’m also building a new chapter: I earned my Masters in Law and just finished earning my paralegal certification and expanding my education in meaningful new directions. I recently submitted my application for the Spring 2026 SFA Master’s in English program, a step that feels both bold and deeply aligned with my love for writing and storytelling. After being a stay-at-home mom for 18 years, returning to academics has been humbling, empowering, and a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late to grow, shift, and to become something new.

I’m drawn to adventure in every form:
🌅 long drives on Texas backroads,
🌾 photographing life between the pines,
🕊️ making art out of ordinary days,
🏈 shooting sports from the bleachers (and now moving on-field – hopefully!),
🏖️ or escaping to white sand and warm sun whenever I can.

Most of all, I love connecting with people — their stories, their families, their moments that deserve to be frozen in time. That’s why this corner of the internet exists: a place to share my work, my heart, and the journey I am still on.
