Happy 16th Birthday!

16. I can hardly believe I am writing that number – it feels like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms, marveling at the tiny miracle that made me a mom. Somehow you’ve grown into this radiant, thoughtful, fierce, and funny young woman who continues to take my breath away.

Watching you grow has been the most incredible journey. From the first steps you stumbled through in your tiny shoes to the confident way you carry yourself now. I have loved every version of you. Each chapter, each birthday, has been a page in the story of someone truly special – someone who lights up rooms, speaks her truth, and cares deeply for the people around her.

Turning 16 is a big milestone. It’s more than just getting a driver’s license or blowing out candles. It’s about discovering more of who you are and what kind of life you want to create for yourself. Sydney, I already know you’re going to build something amazing – because your heart leads with compassion, your mind shines with creativity, and your spirit? Unstoppable.

I know life won’t always be easy. There will be hard days, heartbreaks, and challenges that will stretch you in ways you didn’t expect. I also know this: you are strong. Stronger than you realize.
