To me, “art” is something deeply personal and unique. It’s not just about traditional forms like painting or sculpting; it’s about capturing moments and emotions that I resonate with my own experiences. I find art in every moment of the day – a fleeting smile, a striking shadow, or the combination of darkness/shadow and light. What appeals to me most is the way art evokes feelings and tells a story.

I am drawn to the colors, textures, and feelings that a piece of art conveys. It’s that emotional connection that really captivates me.

A heavy, foggy morning in late October-early November in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Living in the bog, I see art all around me. The ever-changing landscape is a like a canvas, with vibrant wildflowers, tranquil waters, the way the mist rolls over the waters at dawn, and the intricate patterns of nature. I find beauty in these quiet moments, like the way the sunlight filters through the trees or how the landscape shifts with the seasons.

Each day brings new colors and textures, and I find inspiration in the stillness and beauty of my surroundings.

Using my camera to capture these landscapes has had a profound impact on my life. It allows me to freeze these fleeting moments, transforming them into lasting memories.

Each photo becomes a piece of art that reflects my perspective and feelings. This creative process not only deepens my appreciation for the beauty around me but also serves as a form of self-expression. It reminds me to slow down, observe, and find joy in the world, enriching my life in ways I have never thought to expect.
