To end Spring Break, the girls and I ventured down to Gilchrist, Texas to a beautiful Airbnb on the beach. While we had hoped for sunny skies and sandy toes, Mother Nature had other plans for us with a weekend full of gray skies and stormy clouds.

Despite the unexpected weather, our cozy beachfront Airbnb provided the perfect refuge for our rainy weekend. The sound of raindrops tapping against the windows created a soothing ambiance as we snuggled up indoors, sipping iced water, and enjoying the panoramic views of the misty beach.

We spent our time playing board games, watching movies, sitting on the balcony listening to the waves crash on shore, watching lightning crackle across the ocean-sky, and indulging in delicious homemade meals cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. The rain may have kept us indoors, but it only added to the coziness and relaxation of our weekend getaway.

When the rain stopped, we took leisure walks along the damp sand, collecting seashells, and enjoying the fresh, salty breeze. The beach took on a different kind of beauty in the overcast, moody skies and crashing waves creating a serene and introspective atmosphere.

As we packed up to leave our temporary beachside haven, we felt grateful for the unexpected rainy weekend that allowed us to slow down, unwind, and appreciate the simple joys of togetherness and nature’s beauty.
