As the first day of Spring Break arrived in Nacogdoches, Texas, the girls decided to kick off the week with a refreshing and adventurous activity: swimming in our beloved family pond. Despite the chilly 66-degree weather, we were determined to make the most of the day and create lasting memories together. Dressed in their swimsuits and armed with no towels or snacks, we drove to the hill and then walked down to the pond, excited for the day ahead. The cool breeze on our faces hinted at the invigorating experience awaiting us in the water. As the girls dipped their toes in, they collectively braced themselves for the initial shock of the cold water, but soon enough, they acclimated and began to enjoy the refreshing sensation.

The pond was teeming with life – from the gentle ripples on the surface to the occasional sight of fish darting below. Laughter and joy filled the air as they splashed around, played games, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. Despite the cool temps, the warmth of togetherness and the shared experience kept them cozy and content.

As the day drew to a close, they made their way out of the water, their hearts full and spirits lifted. The cold water had invigorated them and the time we spent together had strengthened the bonds that hold our family close. As they dried off, we knew that this day would be one we would always cherish and look back on.
