As the year 2023 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the moments that have shaped our lives over the past year. From exciting adventures to unexpected challenges, 2023 has been a year of growth, change, and new beginnings for our family.

A highlight of 2023 was visiting the Cain Center, where I had the opportunity to capture some beautiful moments with the girls. The serene surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for creating lasting memories. I am grateful for the chance to have experienced such natural beauty.

In addition to exploring the outdoors, I had the pleasure of taking senior photos of Paige, marking an important milestone in her life. It has been incredible to witness the growth and accomplishments of her. Paige has transitioned from being in high school to graduating to being the only girl on TVCC’s E-Sports team. It is inspiring to see her pursue her passions and excel in her chosen field. I’m looking forward to seeing the bright future that awaits her. Shelby is thriving in junior high while Kylie and Sydney are navigating their lives in high school. Each of them are carving their own paths and embracing new opportunities. I know that each girl will continue to achieve great things in their years to come and I couldn’t be more prouder of their individual journeys.

Alongside the triumphs, there were also moments of heartache as the girl’s experienced the ups and downs of young love. However, with each heartbreak came the opportunity for growth and self-discovery. I am confident that they will emerge stronger and more resilient as a result.

Admist the changes and challenges, there were also many new faces that entered our lives, bringing fresh perspectives and enriching our experiences. From mini girl weekend trips to spontaneous adventures, we’ve created countless cherished memories and forged meaningful connections with the people around us.

On a more personal note, I made a bold change by transitioning from being a blonde to embracing a darker look after over a decade. This decision marked a new chapter in my life and I have been loving the sense of empowerment and self-expression that comes with stepping outside of my comfort zone.

2023 presented its share of trials including Steven’s car wreck in September. The incident served as a stark reminder of the fragility of life. I feel incredibly grateful that he emerged from the experience with his life still intact. It is moments like these that underscore the importance of treasuring every day and the people that we hold close to our hearts.

This was exciting news! I was thrilled to announce that my photo that was entered in the Texas Bank Trust in Longview, TX in July 2023 won 2nd place in the Fine Art category. Even better, my winning photo “The Three Amigos” has been published in their 2024 annual calendar. The Three Amigos was taken at the Water Gardens in Fort Worth, TX that is located across the street from Texas A&M Law School. This was truly an honor to be recognized in this way.

We wrapped up 2023 with a visit to the Land of Lights in Athens, TX where we were able to bask in the warmth and togetherness of family. It was a fitting conclusion to a year filled with growth, change, and resilience.

As I look back on 2023, I am filled with gratitude for the love, laughter, and growth that have enriched my life. I eagerly anticipate the adventures, challenges, and blessings that 2024 holds. I remain steadfast in my commitment to embracing every moment with an open heart and open mind. As I look ahead to 2024, I’m filled with a sense of optimism and anticipation for the adventures that await. A new year brings with it the promise of fresh beginnings. I am eager to embrace the opportunities for growth, connection, and self-discovery that lies ahead.
