Finding peace in the midst of it all
There is nothing more important to true growth than realizing that I am not the voice of the my mind – I am the one who hears it. If I do not understand this, I will try to figure out which of the many things my voice is really me.
Experiencing the thoughts of one’s mind is a deeply personal and subjective experience. It can feel like a continuous stream of ideas, emotions, and perceptions that arise and pass through our consciousness. Thoughts have ranged from fleeting and mundane to profound and complex. When my mind notices that a conflict is taking place, it can be interesting and sometimes a challenging experience. It’s like becoming aware of an internal dialogue or debate happening within myself. I may notice conflicting thoughts, desires, or beliefs by pulling me into different directions.
In these moments, I may feel a sense of inner tension/confusion as I try to make sense of the competing perspectives within myself. It can be an opportunity for self-reflection and introspection, as I explore the different facets of my own thinking and attempt to find resolution or understanding. It’s important to remember that everyone’s experience of my own thoughts and conflicts is unique. I know that some people may find it easier to navigate internal conflicts, while others may struggle more. Ultimately, the process of self-awareness and understanding our own thoughts is a deeply personal journey that can lead to personal growth and insight.
