The Cross Roads Bobcats JV and Varsity teams, as well as Cross Roads Ladycats, took on Frankston Indians this past Tuesday (January 24th) in the district game of basketball. As a beginner to sports photography, I decided to continue practicing shooting photos while capturing the game.
I noticed the dedicated fans wearing their team colors and cheering for their team. The cheerleaders were on the sidelines, doing their best to pump up the crowd and keeping the spirits up in the players. The players were giving it their all each game, running up and down the court, and trying to make every shot count.
I snapped away, capturing all the action and emotion of the game between the players, fans, and little ones running about. In the 4th quarter, it looked like the Cross Roads’ JV team was going to pull ahead, but at the last couple minutes of the game, Frankston won by five-points.
The Cross Roads Bobcats/Ladycats were disappointed but they showed great sportsmanship by shaking hands with their opponents and thanking them for a good game. I captured these moments too … moments of hard work, dedication, and respect that only can be seen in sports photography.
